Sustainably Sourced Timber.

Timber is our principal building material and we use different types.  All are sourced with the same conscientious attitude to sustainability.

Timber As A Sustainable Building Material

Sustainably Sourced

We believe timber stands among the most sensible and eco-conscious choices available. Trees naturally absorb carbon dioxide as they grow, release oxygen, support wildlife habitats through their lifecycle and are replenishable, making them a low-impact resource. Our timber is procured only via a small number of trusted suppliers who use certified sawmills and we are assured traceability. For every tree harvested, new saplings are planted and forests are managed responsibly, meaning our timber buildings originate from constantly renewed and replaced resources.

Pressure-Treated

Most of our buildings are crafted from high-quality European softwood. To assure durability and extend the life of the structure, all primary external timbers and cladding undergo pressure treatment using the Tanalised E process. The wood is first dried, then placed under vacuum, allowing preservative treatments to be driven deep into the grain. This produces strong, dependable timber with long-lasting resistance to rot and insect damage.

Recycling

We are committed to a circular approach: all timber off-cuts are collected and recycled into other wood-based products. Our aim is zero waste to landfill, a goal we pursue and one we believe sets us ahead in responsible timber use.
